Avalon Elementary is committed to academic excellence through rigorous instruction, ongoing assessment, and responsive support for all learners. Students are assessed each semester to monitor progress and celebrate growth. Semester grades reflect mastery of Ohio Learning Standards, classroom participation, and performance on formative and summative assessments. Teachers provide regular updates to families through progress reports, conferences, and communication tools such as TalkingPoints.

Promotion to the next grade level is based on successful completion of required curriculum and demonstration of proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics, in alignment with district and state expectations. Families are encouraged to stay engaged by reviewing student progress regularly and collaborating with teachers to support academic and social-emotional development.
